We’ve just started a kitchen remodel.
As a result, our eating situation will be – shall we say – “unique” for the next 4 weeks. (Especially with a 6 month old just starting food…and no kitchen!)
BUT! I have a plan. The first step in this plan is to toss my “reusing/recycling” habits to the curb. We’re using ALL throw-away plates, utensils, etc, whenever possible. Washing daycare bottles by the bathroom sink every night is bad enough. 🙂
Here’s my strategy for getting through the next few weeks with only a toaster, microwave, crockpot and grill. 🙂 We’re also not really celebrating Easter, because it’s just TOO MUCH. 🙂
 March 23rd – 28th
Sunday: crockpot chicken and biscuits (biscuits done in the oven before losing my oven!)
Monday: grilled steak, peas, pasta with butter (premade before I lost my stove!)
Tuesday:Â Â mississippi roast (crockpot), pasta, steamed veggies (steam bags in the microwave!)
Wednesday:Â leftover chicken and biscuits
Thursday:Â leftover mississippi roast
Friday:Â fish from our local Catholic church for Lent
Saturday:Â OYO – on your own, as we have a busy day and will be apart for most of it!
March 29th – April 4th
Sunday:Â chili (from the freezer!), over rice (made in the microwave)
Monday: grilled steak, grilled potatoes, steamed broccoli
Tuesday:Â cafe rio pork (crockpot) tacos with fixin’s
Wednesday:Â leftover chili
Thursday:Â leftover cafe rio pork tacos, taco salad, or nachos
Friday:Â last Friday for fish at the Catholic church
Saturday:Â try our hand at grilled salmon, wild rice mix (microwave), peas
April 5th – April 11th
Sunday:Â crockpot jambalaya, corn muffins (from the freezer!)
Monday:Â grilled steak, grilled potatoes, steamed broccoli
Tuesday:Â crockpot french dip sandwiches, baked chips (purchased), salad
Wednesday:Â leftover jambalaya
Thursday:Â OYO – on your own due to scheduling
Friday:Â grilled pizza (dough from the freezer)
Saturday:Â Â grilled burgers and dogs! (hoping it actually FEELS like spring by this point….)
Now, ideally, that gets me back in my kitchen. But JUST IN CASE – I have a 4th week planned:
April 12th – April 18th
Sunday:Â grilled pork chops, applesauce, wild rice mix (microwave), steamed green beans (steam fresh bag)
Monday:Â grilled steak, grilled potatoes, steamed broccoli
Tuesday:Â crockpot lasagna, salad
Wednesday:Â leftover pork
Thursday:Â leftover lasagna
Friday:Â grilled sausage sandwiches with onions/peppers, pasta salad (bought from a local cafe)
Saturday:Â take-out
