Genre: Paranormal Romance/Fantasy

Review:

Lots of tears shed on the last 40 pages of this book! Completely attached to all of these characters now – can’t believe there have been 10 books! Excitedly awaiting more. 🙂

A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy #1)

discovery

Genre: Paranormal Romance/Fantasy

Rating: StarStarStarStar(out of 5)

Review:

I gotta say….60% of this book, I couldn’t wait to be done with it. It didn’t hold my attention at all. And then WHAM! I was suddenly very invested…with only 40% of the book to go. LOL
Harkness has a unique take on three types of ‘creatures’ living alongside humans: vampires, witches, and daemons. I had trouble relating to any of the main characters at the beginning of the book – Diana is a historian who researched alchemy. Uh. really? REALLY?! Who can wrap their head around that?
I found that as the book went on and new characters were introduced, they softened the hard edges of the two main characters, Matthew and Diana. That helped immensely.
I actually am eager to read the second book – but it just came out and it’s listed as $14.99. Which is an OBSCENE amount of money for an e-book. So – I wait. 🙂

Trying to give these books a real shot – another fun and SUPER quick read…but nothing that sticks with me.
I think these would probably be great beach vacation reads. lol

Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse #3)

clubdead

Genre: Paranormal Romance/Fantasy

Rating: StarStarStarStar(out of 5)

Review:

Best one so far. I wasn’t sure I could stomach this whole series during the first two books. This one was much better. Less Bill (he’s so boring….he’s like the vampire equivalent of an accountant with a pocket protector), Sookie isn’t as much of a dimwit, and introduction of new characters helped immensely. I’ll continue with it!

Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse #4)

Genre: Paranormal Romance/Fantasy

Another decent – albeit very quick – read! Enjoying these ‘middle’ books in this series. 🙂
