I am way behind on recipe updates! I blame it on summer.
I forgot to take a picture of this one – but you all know what marinated, grilled chicken looks like, right?
Right.
This is a family recipe – my dad actually requested it while he was visiting and I had to get it from a family member because I couldn’t find it in my stash. Our family used to make this and let it marinate up to 2 days. I don’t particularly like it marinated that long, but you can easily do this one for a couple hours or 24 hours and be fine.
Doutt Chicken
(Family Recipe)
Chicken pieces – can be boneless or bone-in but I think it tastes better if you use chicken with skin on it to cook. We typically use breasts. You could do 1-3 lbs of chicken with this amount of marinade – double as you see fit.
1/2 cup corn oil – I use canola
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1/2 large onion, minced – you can use however much you want here!
2 cloves garlic, minced/pressed
Directions
– mix the marinade ingredients together – it will be quite red from the paprika
– place the chicken in the marinade and refrigerate until ready to grill – up to 48 hours
– remove chicken from marinade and dispose of extra marinade. grill chicken on foil over medium heat until cooked through
