I have begun referring to my last 6 days as The Cleanse of 2010.

Why?

Because at several points in the past 6 days there was nothing in my body.

Tuesday I came down with (what I thought/think was) the 24-hour “stomach bug” that’s been going around here (shout-out to my co-worker Heather who probably infected me! Thanks Heather!). Tuesday night, and most of Wednesday, is a blur of….err..well, “purging” is probably a good word.

Thursday was dedicated to getting enough Pedialyte (I use it in place of Gatorade) and water and saltines into my system to remember my name/address/birthdate. Dave was so worried he even bought me baby food, hoping I would eat it. LOL

Friday, I went to work. I probably shouldn’t have. But we have a PTO (Paid Time Off) plan at work, which means Wednesday and Thursday that I missed, come out of the same (measly) pot of time that my vacationtime comes from. So I went in. I ate saltines, bananas, and applesauce, and prayed for the day to end.

Came home, collapsed on the couch for an hour. Dave came home, and in an act of rebellion, I ate actual food for dinner. It felt glorious.

Then, at 9pm Friday night, we BOTH came down with ANOTHER bug. I think it’s another/different bug, because the symptoms were different, but had the same effect — more purging.

So here it is, Sunday, 3:30 in the afternoon, and I am just now emerging. I’ve had 3 pedialyte popsicles, water, 2 slices of cinnamon/sugar toast, and just now bravely attempted a bite of chicken (not a good idea, by the way).

I’ve also lost 8 pounds in 6 days. Yikes! LOL

So I’m not sure if I’ll be back to daily posting this week or what…I’m pretty brain-dead from being starved for so long. But I wanted to letcha know I THINK I’m on the mend (so is Dave, luckily). There probably won’t be much exercise this week, but I’m known to push too hard/too fast and I really want to make sure I don’t do that.

Take care all — and keep those germs at bay!!!
