I’ve been fighting the cold my hubs had 2 weekends ago, since Friday. I haven’t tasted food in 3 days. Ugh.
🙁
Saturday Recap:
Lots of tissues and Children’s Dimetapp. I can’t take pseudoephedrine (aka the only decongestant on the market that works) so I take children’s meds when I’m sick. They at least give me a little bit of relief.
Foods have been seriously nothing to report. I don’t have much of an appetite, and I can’t taste, so I’ve basically just been eating whatever comes across my path first when I’m hungry. Some good, some bad (like my mother-in-law’s halushki wrapped in bacon. Seriously)
Here’s how Monday is shaping up…I have a couple of legit posts I’d like to write, but the brain-fog is preventing any creative juices from flowing!
Breakfast
Egg beaters, and banana walnut oatmeal with:
- ½ cup oats
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup water
- ½ banana
- 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
Snack
None, as breakfast really filled me up
Lunch
Leftover garlic lemon chicken with orzo and broccoli, yellow pepper and carrot sticks on the side for extra veggie punch
Snack
Geeze. I’ve had 5 jelly beans, 2 mini mint/dark chocolate 3 musketeers, and now an apple and peanut butter.
Stupid sugar cravings. Especially when I can’t taste it! GAH!
Exercise
I am still feeling really rough, but thought a bit of exercise would be good for me.
I only made it 35 minutes on the treadmill before I was pooped. I guess it was too soon.
I laid down on the mat at the gym and did a couple of hip rotator exercises and piriformis exercises, then headed home.
It had stopped raining so I summoned the energy to take the pup for a 20 minute walk. She was grateful!
It’s amazing how little energy and fitness you retain when you’re sick!
Dinner
DH and I always have steak on Monday…but neither one of us remembered to thaw any today!
So for the first time in longer than I can remember….we didn’t have steak on Monday.
GASP!
I forgot to photograph, but we ended up having turkey cheddar brauts with steamed broccoli…and I had 2 small scoops of the pasta DH made as well.
