Yay! It’s Friday!
Last week flew by, but this week was definiately a struggle! Between not feeling well, being busy at work, and some other chaotic events…whew. I’m glad this week is over.
It’s supposed to rain all weekend, and you know what? Part of me is thrilled.
I struggle to give myself “me” time. I feel like I’m always on the go. But when it rains, it makes it easier for me to slow down, make a cup of hot tea, and curl up on the couch or on the loveseat in the sunroom and read. I love to read. I could sit and read all the time. I just have trouble making time for it!
In addition, DH is sick. He’s blaming me, but his symptoms are more severe than mine were. Regardless, he’s home sick today, and in true “I’m a man and I’m sick so the world should stop” fashion…he asked me to come home after work.
And make him stuffed French toast this weekend.
All in all, not a lot of requests so far!
I made banana oatmeal for DH and I last night. I am a notorious morning hater and I can’t bring myself to get out of bed any earlier to prep my oatmeal, or my lunch, or whatever else, in the morning.
I pack everything in the evening.
So anyway, I made a double batch of oats, and then portioned them out for each of us.
- ½ cup oats
- ½ cup milk (to freshen it this a.m.)
- ½ banana
- Tiny scoop of PB
I wanted to try the peanut butter in my oats, but I think the verdict is the same as cottage cheese: it freaks me out.
At least I tried it!
I also may have had a mini powdered sugar doughnut.
Love those dang things.
I’d packed a Clementine, but didn’t find I needed it
On Fridays, we try to order out as an office and eat together – catch up – that kind of thing. We’re an all-women-plus-one-man office, so maybe that’s why. LOL Regardless, today’s order was to be from a pizzeria down the street.
I ended up with a veggie wrap (broccoli, tomato, onion, and mozzarella cheese) and a few French fries stolen from a co-worker.
French fries are the death of me. I love them.
Alas, unpictured. I’m not comfortable whipping out my phone to photograph my food in front of my co-workers. LOL
The veggie wrap was enormous, and I found no need of a snack. Especially since I wasn’t working out tonight.
None. DH was sick, and there were errands to be done.
Dinner tonight was salmon, wild rice, and cauliflower. Yum 🙂
Fitness magazine put together their best cardio workouts – they range from indoor/outdoor, cycling/running/etc…check ‘em out if you’re looking for something new 🙂
