Hey all – had a wild day, which started with a sick puppy at 3:30 a.m.
She’s all good now though – no clue what was wrong – but I ended up going into work late, so I could get some sleep and HOPEFULLY kick whatever virus is dragging me down right now.
Ended up with 2 meetings cancelled, as well, so it wasn’t nearly as chaotic a day as I thought it would be!
I was relieved!
Breakfast
The red berry rides again!
Snack
Saltines. Kid you not. My head was killing me, and saltines tend to help. I assume because of the sodium.
Lunch
Lunch was originally packed (last night) in order to be scarfed down while I walked from meeting to meeting. Since I had some cancellations, I got to eat my lunch like a normal person.
Everything bagel with thin-sliced ham and provolone, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and some plain yogurt with ranch dressing mix in it for dipping my veggies.
I ended up eating exactly half of my lunch, going to a meeting, and then finishing it when I got back, which means I wasn’t SUPER hungry for my snack.
But I knew I was going to try to get in a full-body maintenance strength workout in today, despite not feeling 100%
Snack
Kashi granola bar with peanut butter
Exercise
I did a lot of cardio and abs yesterday, so today I cut cardio and fit in a full body strength program. It is basically a maintenance strategy – because of this cold or whatever it is, I didn’t have the energy for super-heavy weight.
I warmed up with 10 minutes of cardio on the elliptical, then…
I did the following, 3 sets, 12 reps each:
- Barbell Chest Press
- Lat Pulldowns
- Standing Military Shoulder Press
- Barbell Squat
- Seated Calf Raise
- Dumbbell Bicep Curls
- Tricep Bench Dips
- Abductor/Adductor Machines
After that, I hopped on the treadmill and did another 10 minutes, 3.6 mph at 7.0 incline.
HRM says 450 calories burned in 1h5m.
Dinner
Dinner was homemade sloppy joe on potato rolls, with annie’s macaroni and cheese, and a frozen veggie medley.
It wasn’t the prettiest, but it worked.
As soon as I hit publish on this post, I’m going to enjoy a sweet treat a la Carrots N Cake.
1/2 whole wheat bagel thin, thin smear of PB, and a sprinkle of PB & chocolate chips.
